Garment industry is an industry that move in the field of garment that process a half goods to be a goods in the form of clothes. In garment production the important part before to be clothes is the process of production for making a clothes. The process of production take the important role in the garment industry because to produce a good clothes is need a planning, an innovation, and a knowledge of garment production, the third of it is belonged into the knowledge of garment production.

Knowledge of garment production in learns about process of production in the garment industry, plan of garment production, management, and technology of garment industry. The purpose to learn process of production is to knowing the process of garment production from the begin until the finishing step. The purpose of planning garment production is for a plan the process of production until made the clothes that have quality and meet the quantity for consumer. Whereas the purpose of management is to manage an economy and to manage the human resources. And the last learning is the technology of garment industry, with continue the development of an innovation because the necessary of industry, so the technology will continue to develop. So that in the garment industry to learn about technology is very important.

Choosing a major of garment production is a correct because you will get much an experience; get the knowledge about garment industry. Polytechnic of STT Tekstil Bandung is the only campus that has a department of the textile industry in Asia. Garment production in Polytechnic of STT Tekstil Bandung is a department that focuses on the field of Textile Goods like producing apparel and paraphernalia clothing.

The advantage of choosing majors Garment Production is we learn that is not taught in other campuses, for example, such as sewing, knowing the types of fabric; analyze the types of fiber etc.

Additionally at this time the demand for labor needs in the garment sector is needed and continues to rise and is no doubt that the garment is essential for life.

Have you ever think if you don’t have any clothes in your wardrobe? But nobody sells the clothes as you want. And when you find one of the clothes that you want is very uncomfortable to wear, because it’s made by bad textile quality. Do you know the clothes in a store that has a good quality was made by people who understand about fashion and textile? Maybe, you will consider is an easy thing but actually it isn’t because to manufacture a good clothes has a long process. If you want to know the process you can learn about it, but whether that knowledge has known in generally that you can get anywhere? Of course it is not. You can get the knowledge by learning at the school that has the program study of Fashion and Textile Merchandising. There, you will learn many things about fabrics, the manufacture of cloth and clothing and anything about textiles.

After you learned about fashion and textiles merchandising, you can build your own business in textiles and fashion. In other hand, you can lead the garment factory or the garment company, not only that you can also create your creative idea to become a fashion designer. Working in the fashion and textiles is not same as other jobs; here you will find different things every day because to make textile and fashion product is not only one type. So, if you serious to learn about Fashion and Textile Merchandising you will get your success in fashion and textiles world.

The garment is an industry that produces apparel and clothing. There’s a lot factory the garment in Indonesia. Products from industry the garment is clothes, shirts, pants, skirts, blouses and other. To be able to work the garment we need to have the ability to sew. Typically most of them studying in the courses, but they can only apply as an employee (labor), took you long enough to get a promotion. In Polytechnic STTT Bandung is no major production of garments. In the production of garment we will learn from the sewing, the financing of production, planned production, production patterns ranging from manual way up to use a computer, cutting materials with the number of quite a lot, sewing, waste yarn, washing, finishing, packing and over. The major production garment is very hard to find the Indonesia, but job opportunities are very large, because we will only compete with our classmates. Study on the production of garment it’s very relaxed, because there’s always we’ll just have to be the latent in the middle of it. He will also not going to be aware of the lowest become a supervisor can also be a high office, how do we promote our ability at the time of the interview. There are also graduated who work outside the country. Who doesn’t want to work abroad with a salary big enough? So let’s go get in the department of the production of garments, what are we waiting for!

     Garment is apparel that can be used by children, adults, men and women. Clothing is one of the primary needs of human.Garment industry related to textile materials such as fabric, yarn, and the sewing machines to produce a finish product.The people involved in this poduction is the supervisor, operator, manager, QC section, and all of his staff who assist the process. 

     Garment production is a process of making the finish product starting from pattern making to the process of sewing and also learn about the textile business. Textile business has considerable opportunities in the country of Indonesia and has good job prospects for the future.Garmen factory in Indonesia is now vastly growing. A growing number of jobs in Indonesia, the less the amount of unemployment. So, let's choose majors garment production and show the ability and creativity in yourself.

PRODUCTION OF GARMENT

I will explain a little bit about majors in polytechnic STTT Bandung. Polytechnic STTT Bandung has 3 majors. There are textile chemical, textile engineering and production of garment but this time I will especially explain about production of garment. In this major there are more specific major such as fashion design but in this discuss only about production of garment.

Production of garment itself is a process making of some product such as shirt, t-shirt, skirt, suit, pants etc. this production is very important cause supply any meets of clothing. Also we can study about the production of garment from the first step until the last. To encourage us about the process experience and usually only a few people who has it case the major itself only in Polytechnic STTT Bandung and almost every industry of garment looking for the fresh graduate here, so yes are the job opportunity is still wide open and the competitor not a big deal.

The need of clothing is important in this life and it covered by this industry. Garment production will also help the needs of clothing and also help in every sector so choosing this major make a big success opportunity in life.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO CHOOSE GARMENT INDUSTRY

Before l describes the reason why do we have to garment industry, l will describe what the garment industry is.

Garment industry is one of industry that produced clothes and the supply clothes from fabric clothes until ready product. The produced made by textile materials. 

I will describe why we have to choose garment industry. Because the development of garment sector industry has gotten the first level. The requirements of the people about clothing never stop and must be completed. And then, requirement of the people to be always fashionable make the human never satisfied to have it.

In addition the garment is also the labor intensive, it takes many workers. So, after we graduate we don’t have to worry about to find the job. Actually, the work will be looking for us.

Furthermore, many Indonesia garments not only for this country but also to another country (export). And in the garment, we not only learn about how to produce clothes but also learn about business management and the company management.

So, for who want to be an entrepreneur just join us. Because garment are full of advantages.

But what is garment?

Garment according KBBI is ready made clothes. 

Why you have to choose this major? And should be Politeknik STT Tekstil?

First, this is one and only university on Indonesia, even in Asia who focus on textile. In this place you can learn a lot of thing that you cannot or hard to find at the other places. Second, if you really want to know about garment and management you are perfect at this major. When you study on it you can’t stop love this major and every time with positive thinking it’s really excited things to learn.

Why do we choice garment production?

 Garment is product integration and sewing the pieces of component. Until become a fashion. The garment as the industry cannot be isolated from other industries such as industry fibers and thread, spinning industry, weaving to be a fashion. From all were later called the textile industry or production of textile.

In a Polytechnic STTT Bandung, there are majoring get in touch with the textile such as textile engineering, textile chemistry, fashion design and garment production. Garment production is the major that included textile were goods. In this major, we're taught all kinds of garment starting with the creation of pattern and marker, cutting, sewing and finishing. It’s still a lot of subject related to the garment production such as marketing, human resource management, entrepreneurship, etc.

When finished, a graduate of the garment production can work in the industry. Not for the operator, but to fill the position of management in the industry. Because of the garment production have the ability to plan and manage the garment production, manage control process and the quality of the garment ( Stt tekstil ). But in addition to working in the industry, a graduate can make own business, such as opening a garment, a boutique. Because in addition has been learn about production process, has also learn entrepreneurship and marketing. And that was kind of added value which is owned by graduate of the garment production.

Why we do in the department production of garment?

In the year 2015 until now I college majoring in the production of garment, here I am happy because it turns out that the major that I took is the major that most needed for a job vacancy in the garment. 

A dream we make my own clothes and be used alone will be achieved because the production of garment, teaches us to design clothes, choose fabric according to taste and stitch fabric to be clothes that we want.

Why should the production of garment?  Because the department of the production of garment, learn about how we can produce a product suit from the raw the stuff so, the production process in the garment from designing clothes, the creation of patterns, marker , cutting, numbering, bundling, sewing , and packing to product. 

So, don’t worry in the department of the production of garment because to get the science we can develop and establish their own business.

And for those of you who want to work in the garment didn't have to worry because graduate of the garment production, wouldn’t be the operator but become a supervisor of the company.

Study program of Garment Production is one of the program diplomas IV from Polytechnic STTT Bandung that is on department of made goods of textile. The purpose of garment production is can meet needs of the skilled professional in the field garment production. In this garment production we can knowing and learning many things about the business world, not only learning a theory but, we also learning a practice so more understand about garment. In garment production we will study about how we creating a product of made goods of textile. In here student will learning lecture as manual pattern making, marker, grading pattern, cutting analysis and material utilization, and planning garment production. In the garment production a student’s be changed for working as garment industry. Therefore we don’t have to be afraid to learning garment production and will not miscasting if we choose study program of garment production in Polytechnic STTT Bandung.

We will be getting many chance if we choose garment production in Polytechnic STTT, as thing we can create a business alone or working in one of garment industry. We will have changed very large for the future. Garment businesses in Indonesian have good prospects, by example a clothes which is needs basic human. Therefore, garment business will still there and will be continues to grow.

The program is one of the garment production Diploma IV program organized by the Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Teksil (STTT) located in the Department of Textile Finished Goods. This study program started his education in 2004, it is based on the demand for manpower needs in the garment sector continues to increase. Professional designations graduate Diploma Program IV is the Bachelor of Applied Science (SST) in accordance with Regulation No. 60 1999. Where graduates by Presidential decree No. 57 in 1984 in the field of personnel priced the same as a law degree (Tier-1).

Industry garment is an industry that produces apparel and clothing. What is meant to be all kinds of clothes from the textiles for men, women, children and infants? The raw material is woven fabric or cloth knitwear and its products, among others, in the form of a shirt, blouses, skirts, shirts, underwear and others.

This garment is producing clothing made and supplies clothes from the start making patterns to be a product by choosing the department of garment, we can know the process from beginning to plan production, create patterns, cut material, sewing to finish. We will be able to understand about the garment like a garment, fuck the garment, a technique to make it, make patterns, and how to sew it. If we chose my major garment we can work and not just being laborer the factory but can open their own business. 

There's a lot of benefit that we can from studying the production of garments. Because it can add in sight, also in the field of textiles, and facilitate the business.

Why have to choose a major in garment production?
The production of garment that is one of the majors that is in the campus Politeknik STT TEKSTIL Bandung. Majors are synonymous with sewing machines, but don't worry make that cannot sew here will be taught from the start point of the tailoring. Majoring in garment production we will learn to make lab coats and suits. How to make
1. Patterns manual and CAD, 
2. Cutting
3. Tailoring. 
First, we'll create a pattern with the manual way is to how to make a pattern on paper, but if you make the pattern by means of CAD is to make patterns on the computer. Second, after we make pattern then taught how to cut out the pattern on the fabric. Last is tailoring, after fabric in piece form the components of the pattern then we would sew them in order to become one the component is lab coats and suits. Here he was taught tailoring individual way as well as running like at the factory. Garment production department also learned garment production planning, the selection of garment machinery, utilities, and etc.
The large number of job opportunities after graduating from Polytechnic STT Bandung, especially textile majoring in garment production. We've been able to open his own tailor with a sewing machine, it simply. Therefore, the Department is already promising a success if we can arrange it. Choose a major in garment production because here with our success.

Why do we have to choose garment production? 

Garment Business has a good prospect.  On the garment business we were teach how to make a pattern, because before we make a clothes we have to make a pattern first.  Choosing the production of garment major will not make us regret it.  We also teach how to describe human proportion and then teach how to stitch from the clothes pattern that we created earlier.  On the Garment Production not only women, but lots of men interested to choose the garment major.  And then in the production of garment major we not only learn about how to stitch a clothes, but also we have General lecture, that proved by a lots of friend who has graduated from STT Textile especially production of garment major not all of them work from their major, some of them opened a race workshop, work at bank, open a convection workshop, chemical supplier, photography, even some of them became textile machine supplier and spare parts and so many more.  Production of Garment has a good quality trusted.

Garment production is one of the major in Polytechnic STTT Bandung, in this major we learn how to produce/process intermediate goods into finished goods textile. These major process fabrics that made by textile engineering and finished by textile chemistry. The difference other major with garment production are we learn about pattern (Manual pattern & CAD pattern), how to draw proportion body of human (man & woman), cutting process and sewing. For you who like draw you can explore your talent in pattern and anatomy sketch. For you who want to hone your skill you can get it in matter of sewing.

Is fashion being studied in garment production? Yes, we learn about fashion but not deep as fashion design major, fashion design and garment production have a resemblance but it different, for you who love fashion you can choose fashion design major. Don’t worry for you who dislike mathematics, physics, and chemistry we learn about that only one semester.  How about opportunities to get a job? it easy for you to get a job , think about this, quota for garment production major is little bit ,while the industry needs more graduates from Polytechnic STTT, so don’t worry about get a job because it easy. Garment production is divided into two courses, namely, the production of garments and fashion design garment production concentration.

“Garment industry is an industry that produces apparel and equipment   clothes. What is meant by apparel   is all kinds of clothing materials   textiles for men, women, children and   baby. The raw material is woven or   knitted fabrics and products   which include   shirts, blouses, skirts,   T-shirt, polo shirts, sport   wear, clothing   in (underwear) and others.   The industry is a contributor, the foreign exchange for the country after oil   and natural gas. In the international marker, Indonesian garment products have a pretty good position, with   share of between 3% - 4% of the total value of   export world. ”

We can learn about the process of making finished goods to finished textiles into clothing, activities, such as creating a pattern or marker-making, cutting, finishing apparel for the preparation of packaging several other processes such as the washing process.

The prospect of working in garment production after graduating very nice as on the merchandising, superintendent, supervisor sewing, cutting supervisor, or others, and may also work in other private companies such as the company export imports.

Why majoring a garment production?

Garment production acknowledged as a subject of how to makes a product begins with process of sampling, cost, planning, making pattern that consist of cutting, sewing, thread cut, washing, finishing, packing and folding. Then another process like printing, tie dye (optional) etc. And the last is final inspection and then distribution. 

In some university, a major of a garment production is a little bit difficult to find because of its lack existence and also acknowledge of the society about it especially in Indonesia. However, having a degree in garment production can support the expertise/alumnus for planning, managing and controlling the quality in a process of making garment products. Not only that they can evaluate the final product, resolve problems, planning, managing, and controlling the distribution based on the development of a science and technology. 

They can fill mid position of managerial department or distribution in garment industry. The last but not least they can implement their knowledge’s into their own business especially in garment industry.
